HOW DO YOU MAKE SURE STUDENTS HAVE MASTERED THE STANDARD?
FROM THE BLOG: How do you make sure that your students have mastered Common Core Math Standards? We always relied on our curriculum to teach the standards, until we moved to a standards-based report card. At that point, we needed to find an easier way to make sure our kiddos were mastering the standards while still following our curriculum (our math curriculum is amazing, but it sort of hops – and I needed something that was straight forward – they mastered 10 sheets of this standard, so YAY – they know this standard…)
I’m not sure where you are or what your district does, but if you want an easy way to make sure your students are mastering the skills needed (aka standards) here are some fun and easy ways to check that off your list! Speaking of CHECK IT OFF – I have a free check-list for you to grab BELOW!

This is a wonderful resource. I look at the standard that I am teaching and find the deck of Boom cards that matches and I'm good to go. My students need practice with the standard and since we can't do centers in class, this fits the bill. And they enjoy it. Thank you!

These are great! I love that my students can practice the math skills that are taught alongside our math program all year long.

I like the concept. However, at times it was unclear where the hand was positioned, which frustrated some students. They would enter what seemed like the correct answer, only to have it marked incorrect. We then had to spend time figuring out what the system was actually looking for, which was frustrating.

Teaching Tiny Hoosiers –
The first thing we had to teach when we went remote in November was telling time… OOF! These Boom Cards were very helpful to do as a whole group and to have the students practice individually. I love that it gives them immediate feedback so they can correct their answers and learn from their mistakes. Thank you for your hard work!
