HOW TO USE TASK CARDS

I think this is one of my favorite topics!  I absolutely love incorporating games into my classroom – and task cards are exactly that!  It’s really just a problem on a decorated card, but HEY!  They make me so happy – and the students LOVE them!

I’m sure we all know what a printable task card is – but they really haven’t been around for that long if you think about it!  I don’t know who truly came up with the idea, but once they did – it took off in classrooms around the world – and mine was no different!  How could I contain myself – EVERYTHING became a task card set!  Ya’ll – for real!!

    These task cards were used as my Problem-Set for my Bluebonnet Lesson. They weren’t the same problems; however, they were the same type of problems, so it worked out perfectly. The kids enjoyed them, and it was so nice to see them having fun while reviewing. Lots of conversations were taking place about telling time to the half hour. I got to hear some student-led conversations about how certain students read the analog clocks to the half hour and how they know what time it is. One of the higher students was telling a lower student in her group, “If it is between two hours, you have to go back”. I was able to use the verbiage with other struggling students, who took off with it, and were able to complete those half-hour task cards successfully after that! Thank you for a great resource that can be used with any curriculum.
