HOW TO PLAY...

  • The game has 8 words on each card, 55 cards, and 57 different words. The object of the game is to say the one word on your card that matches the middle card before your opponents say their matching word.
  • Every card has a match - it's crazy, but it works.
  • You can also split the deck and have two groups playing. It doesn't matter how many cards you use or if a card gets lost.
  • It takes a bit of set up (printing, laminating, and cutting) but I promise... you won't be disappointed that you spent a bit of time in prep. Your students will LOVE it!

My students love these games and ask to play them!!! They are a great review after learning all the concepts about a specific phonics skill.
When I mentioned in my previous review that a few of the words were too difficult for my students who were reviewing this skill, Ms. Juneau contacted me and offered to make the game work for my students! What great customer service! And she got it completed in a matter of days!

So many options for differentiation – I plan to keep this game in my literacy tubs and just change out the phonics pattern as we learn them throughout the year. Great game!

My students at first had a difficult time with this game. They did not understand how to play but once they caught on to HOW to play it they went crazy trying to be the first to shout the word. We also put a little twist of our own on it which challenged them and they loved it saying this was so much fun. They are asking when they can play it again!

This is easily the game everyone wants to play! I teach 4th grade, and I got this for one of my RtI groups that really struggles with basics. All of my kiddos want to play! It’s great because my small group gets to ‘teach’ the others how to play (and they win a LOT). Wish there was a way to do this with 4th grade standards…
