HOW DO YOU MAKE SURE STUDENTS HAVE MASTERED THE STANDARD?

FROM THE BLOG: How do you make sure that your students have mastered 1st Grade Common Core Math Standards? We always relied on our curriculum to teach the standards, until we moved to a standards-based report card.  At that point, we needed to find an easier way to make sure our kiddos were mastering the standards while still following our curriculum (our math curriculum is amazing, but it sort of hops – and I needed something that was straight forward – they mastered 10 sheets of this standard, so YAY – they know this standard…)

I’m not sure where you are or what your district does, but if you want an easy way to make sure your students are mastering the skills needed (aka standards) here are some fun and easy ways to check that off your list!  Speaking of CHECK IT OFF – I have a free check-list for you to grab BELOW!

HEAR FROM OTHERS: 📢

  • This is a wonderful resource. I look at the standard that I am teaching and find the deck of Boom cards that matches and I'm good to go. My students need practice with the standard and since we can't do centers in class, this fits the bill. And they enjoy it. Thank you!

  • These are great! I love that my students can practice the math skills that are taught alongside our math program all year long.

  • So happy I purchased these! Love Boom Cards! Perfect for remote learning!

This resource was exactly what I was looking for! It was well organized, easy to use, and kept my students engaged from start to finish. The directions were clear, and it required very little prep, which is always a huge plus. It fit seamlessly into my lesson and helped reinforce the skills my students were learning. I’ll definitely be purchasing more resources from this seller. Highly recommend!

The boom cards don’t work super well on iPads, which is what my school uses. Sometimes, the students would build the shape correctly (using the model) but be missing a few pieces, or have some pieces that were turned the wrong way. My students still loved doing it and had a blast.

I was struggling with this expectation while teaching virtually. My students needed lots of hands on time to explore this. I wish I had discovered this resource a couple of weeks earlier!
