Days in School DIGITAL Resource
This Days in School DIGITAL Resource Back to School Activity is a great way to track your days! Are students always asking how many days you've been in school? Or how many days left of school? This PPT (I've also included a Google Slides link) walks you through the days of the entire school year.
**We used this instead of the counting tape for Every Day Counts Calendar Math. The wrapping the numbers around the room gave me anxiety - so we improvised!
It starts off with a 100 chart, covering up all of the numbers. Each day, one box disappears showing the number for that day. There's also a math question for each day. (The questions are geared towards K and 1st grade students!!) After you reach 100 days, it starts counting backwards from 80 down to zero! We've done this for years, and the kids have always loved our charts! Takes a few seconds before you start morning message or before you start your math block!

They give examples and help practice and teach fluency and concept development for each topic. My students sit on the carpet for most of this portion of the daily lesson. They have their white boards so I can check for understanding, and we have our leader who is usually at the board with me calling on students and helping with the lesson.
