Contractions Matching Game Coding Robot Mat Printables

Looking for a contractions matching game that gets kids thinking and moving? These coding robot printables let students read two words, find the matching contraction on the mat, and program their coding robot to travel to the right spot.

Students practice reading and recognizing contractions while building early coding skills like sequencing, planning, and problem solving. It works well for literacy centers, STEM centers, early finisher activities, and small group practice. Please note that the coding robot and the plastic mat are not included. Teachers use the coding robot they already have in their classroom.

• Students choose a task card and read the two words.
• They find the matching contraction on the grid.
• Students program the coding robot to move to that word.
• They record the movements on the coding sheet and check their answer with the answer document.
