My favorite thing to do...

Long before Chip and Joanna or HGTV shows, teachers were “setting the stage” of their classroom.  We all know what first impressions can do, so for me… I wanted my students and parents to know that I was ALL IN.  Now… please don’t get me wrong – if your room isn’t the cutest room in the school, it’s not that you’re not all in – that’s just me.  This was my standard for me – not for anyone else.  But I needed my room to be complete – with labels on the tables, to everything color-coordinated.  That made me feel complete.  Once my room was set up, then I could spend the rest of my time focusing on curriculum - but the set-up needed to be complete. When I left the classroom to become a technology facilitator (the first time), I got a big raise because I wasn't spending money on furniture/storage/decorations.

For me – creating is my outlet.  So, even though I don’t technically have a classroom anymore, I still love creating classroom decor – I think it’s my favorite thing to do.

Very cute! I don’t have a color copier, so I printed them in B&W and colored them myself!
