St. Patrick’s Day Coding Robot Mat for Counting to 10

Looking for a coding robot mat that makes St. Patrick's Day math feel like a game? This activity introduces beginner coding while students practice counting to 10 and comparing items. Kids look at a task card, find the matching picture on the grid, and program their coding robot to travel to the right spot.

It is made to be used with the programmable coding robot you already have in your classroom. The coding robot and the plastic mat are not included.

• Print and arrange the picture cards into a 6x6 grid under or on your plastic mat.
• A student draws a task card and finds the matching picture on the mat.
• The student plans the path and programs the coding robot to move there.
• The student records the steps on the coding sheet.
• The student uses the answer document to check that the coding robot landed on the correct picture.
