This Rhyming Words I Have Who Has Game is a quick and fun way to introduce, practice, or review rhyming words. This set is sort of tricky because students have to listen to the word, but then see if their word is the rhyming word of what was called.  It takes a bit to get used to, but once they do – they love it!

Our Rhyming Words I Have Who Has Game is a quick and fun way to introduce, practice, or review rhyming words. This set is sort of tricky because students have to listen to the word, but then see if their word is the rhyming word of what was called.  It takes a bit to get used to, but once they do - they love it!

CCSS Standard:

  • RF.K.2a - Recognize and produce rhyming words

How to play whole class:

  • students sit or stand in a circle around the room
  • make sure you pass out ALL cards (some might end up with more than one card depending on the class size
  • your leader begins with their card - they will say, "I have... who has..."
  • whoever has the next card, then says what they have - (we sit after we say our card - for a visual)

How to play in a small group:

  • divi up cards among the group
  • have their cards face up so they can see cards
  • one student starts - then they keep on going just like who group
  • they can either turn cards over or hand them to the teacher

What others have to say: 📢

I absolutely love playing games, so naturally my classroom is filled with games as well.  But hear from others that have used my games...

  • My students enjoy any type of game involving the title “ I have … you have!” These cards involve rhyming words and it allowed the children to apply their understanding of words that rhyme. These cards are bright, interesting and the children are always ready for the challenge of a new “ I have…you have” game.

  • Our students love this game! It keeps them on task and they love jumping up when they have the answer and it is their turn to read!!

  • I used this activity with my small walk to read group of 2nd graders. They absolutely loved it. They have participated in I Have, Who Has in the larger groups but I think within the small group it increased their participation. Each child had 6 cards and they really had to pay attention. I think they ended up with a better understanding of the activity.

  • This is great that I can use this game with general ed classmates as well as my student with special needs. Thank you for 28 cards
