My Story...
Long before Chip and Joanna or HGTV shows, teachers were “setting the stage” of their classroom. We all know what first impressions can do, so for me… I wanted my students and parents to know that I was ALL IN. Now… please don’t get me wrong – if your room isn’t the cutest room in the school, it’s not that you’re not all in – that’s just me. This was my standard for me – not for anyone else. But I needed my room to be complete – with labels on the tables, to everything color-coordinated. When I left the classroom to become a technology facilitator (the first time), I got a big raise just because my money wasn't going into my classroom for supplies, organizational items, and resources.
For me – creating is my outlet. So, even though I don’t technically have a classroom anymore, I still love creating classroom decor – I think it’s my favorite thing to do.
